Today we will show you how to prepare a battered prawns, ideal to share with family or friends accompanied by a nice cold beer, also you will not believe how easy and fast they are prepared, the first thing to do is to buy some fresh prawns and good quality, then we will peel them leaving only the tail, we must also remove the intestines, which is a kind of black vein that is found on top of the shrimp and is removed very easily with the help of a knife.
Once we have cleaned and peeled the prawns, we can use breadcrumbs or panko (a kind of Japanese breadcrumbs) together with the egg, we can also pass them through wheat flour, although to our taste we prefer to use only breadcrumbs, it does not need anything else, they are super crispy.
Ingredients to prepare Battered prawns
How To Make Battered prawns
Step 1:
We begin the elaboration of our battered prawns, for this, we take a prawn and we pass it through the egg, then through the bread crumbs and repeat the process, again through the egg and finally through the bread crumbs (we do this step with all the prawns).
Step 2:
In a frying pan add oil and let it heat up (do not let it smoke) then add our prawns and cook them for 20 seconds on each side (if they are completely covered with oil, we will cook them for 40 seconds) then remove them from the pan, place them on absorbent paper to remove excess fat and now we just have to enjoy these delicious battered prawns.
Tips for preparing Battered prawns
If the prawns are frozen, take them out of the freezer at least 1 hour in advance to thaw, you can also immerse them in a bowl of water to thaw faster.
For this battered prawns recipe, we use fresh prawns, but you can also use frozen prawns.
Another important point when preparing battered prawns, is the cooking time, we should not overdo it because it will be too much and we will be very dry, with just a few seconds or almost a minute, they will be perfect and just right.
What can we accompany Battered prawns?
The battered prawns are ideal for sharing with friends and family, accompany them with a yummy tartar sauce and a cold beer.
