Ingredients to prepare Pumpkin puree
How To Make Pumpkin puree
Step 1:
We begin the preparation of our pumpkin puree, for this, in a baking tray covered with parchment paper, we will place both halves of the pumpkin (with the skin side up) and we will cook it in the oven for 45 minutes at 180 ºC / 356 ºF.
Step 2:
After the cooking time in the oven, we remove our pumpkin and let it cool, then we will remove all the skin as I show you in the video (you can help you with a spoon) once the skin is removed, we will cut it into pieces and we will grind it (you can use an electric grinder or blender).
Step 3:
Once the pumpkin is well mashed, we are going to place it in a colander with a container underneath so that it can bounce all its water (1 hour approximately) and if you want to make this step much faster, you can use a very clean cloth or kitchen towel and squeeze it, when it has bounced all its water, we serve it and we have our delicious pumpkin puree ready.
Tips for preparing Pumpkin puree
Let the pumpkin cool very well before removing the skin to avoid burning yourself.
What can we accompany Pumpkin puree?
The pumpkin puree is perfect as a garnish or as a base to prepare many other recipes such as pumpkin cookies or pumpkin sponge cake, among others.
