Empanadas along with arepas are the typical Venezuelan breakfast, they usually have many filling options from cheese to seafood, but the most popular empanadas we find are ground beef empanadas, shredded beef empanadas, chicken empanadas and cheese empanadas.
As for the dough to prepare empanadas, the same precooked corn flour used to prepare arepas is used, to which water is added, a little salt and kneaded until a homogeneous and manageable dough is obtained, normally in the case of empanadas and unlike the arepas, a touch of sugar is added to these, it will depend on who prepares it and how much quantity is used.
Follow our step by step videos below, where we will show you in detail how to prepare dough for Venezuelan empanadas so you can fill them with whatever you like.
