Ingredients
- 700 g / 24.7 oz white tuna cut into loins
- 1 chopped onion
- 1/2 chopped green bell pepper
- 2 garlic cloves
- 400 ml / 13.5 oz of crushed natural tomato
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
How To Make It
Step 1:
We begin the preparation of our white tuna with tomato sauce, for this, in a pan with a little olive oil and medium heat, add the onion, garlic and cook for a couple of minutes, then add the green bell pepper and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 2:
Add the natural tomato, a little salt, a little pepper, stir and let it cook for 10 minutes over low heat. After 10 minutes, remove the tomato sauce from the heat and blend it in a blender (if you want the sauce to be lighter, pass it through a strainer).
Step 3:
In another pan with a little olive oil, we are going to add our white tuna loins and seal them on both sides (approximately 2 minutes on each side), then add the tomato sauce that we had reserved and cook for 5 more minutes.
Step 4:
Serve on a plate, add some fresh parsley on top and our delicious bonito con tomate is ready.

When you buy the tuna at the fishmonger's, ask the fishmonger to remove the bone, the skin and cut the tuna into loins.
