Ingredients
- 340 g. (12 oz / 0.75 lb) canned tuna, natural
- 1 onion cut into small squares
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 1/2 red bell pepper cut into small squares
- 1/2 green bell pepper cut into small squares
- 200 ml (6.76 oz) crushed natural tomatoes
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
How To Make It
Step 1: We begin the preparation of our tuna stew, for this, in a pan with a little oil and over medium heat, add the onion, garlic and let it cook for 3 minutes, then add the red bell pepper, green bell pepper and let it cook for 6 minutes more.
Step 2: Add the tuna, stir and cook for 2 minutes, then add the crushed tomato, a little salt, a little pepper, stir, lower the heat and cook for 8 minutes. Once the cooking time is over, remove from the heat and our delicious tuna stew is ready.
Tips To Prepare It
As for the type of tuna that we must use to make this stewed tuna recipe are canned natural tuna, tuna in oil (in this case we must remove most of the oil) fresh tuna or canned white tuna, what is important as always, is that it is of very good quality for a better result.
You can use crushed tomatoes or natural tomato sauce.
If you wish, you can add to this tuna stew some spices such as garlic powder, oregano powder, thyme, among others.
