Today we show you how to prepare one of our favorite lasagna which is the chicken lasagna, a safe bet when having guests at home or for a family reunion, like other lasagna is prepared very easily, first prepare a chicken stew which will be our filling and then assemble the lasagna combining layers of pasta, chicken, bechamel sauce and cheese, then follow our step by step videos and learn how to prepare this delicious chicken lasagna.
Ingredients
- 3 cooked and shredded chicken breasts (reserve the broth for other preparations)
- 12 pre-cooked lasagna sheets (cook according to manufacturer's instructions)
- 1 onion cut into small squares
- 300 ml. of crushed natural tomato
- 100 ml. of white wine
- 250 ml. chicken stock
- 6 fresh basil leaves
- 500 ml. of Bechamel Sauce
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves
- Salt and pepper to taste
How To Make It
Step 1: We begin the preparation of our chicken lasagna, for this, in a pot or casserole with a little oil and over medium heat, add the onion, garlic and let it cook for 4 minutes, then add the shredded chicken and cook for a couple of minutes, then add the white wine and let the alcohol evaporate.
Step 2: Add the crushed natural tomato, the chicken broth and stir, then add the basil leaves, a little salt, a little pepper, stir and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes or until the juices reduce.
Step 3: In an ovenproof container, we are going to assemble our chicken lasagna, to do this, we start by placing a little of our béchamel sauce (to prevent the lasagna plates from sticking), then we place the lasagna plates, add half of our chicken filling, then a little bechamel sauce and repeat this process 1 more time (lasagna plates, chicken filling and bechamel sauce) then, for the last layer, we place the lasagna plates, bechamel sauce and grated parmesan cheese, so that we get a crispier surface.
Step 4: We introduce our chicken lasagna in the oven at a temperature of 220 ºC / 428 °F for about 15 minutes or until the top layer is well gratinized (the cooking of the lasagna will depend on the type of lasagna dish you use, in this recipe we use pre-cooked dishes that are left to soak in hot water for 10 minutes and then finish cooking in the oven), remove our lasagna from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes, cut a piece and we have our great chicken lasagna ready.
Tips To Prepare It
For this chicken lasagna recipe, we use chicken breast, but you can also use chicken thighs or drumsticks, always cooked and butchered.
The number of lasagna sheets to use will depend on the mold you use, for a mold like the one shown in the video (which serves 6 people) we use 12 sheets.
You can use crushed tomatoes or natural tomato sauce.
As for the lasagna plates, you can use the one you like the most, always following the manufacturer's instructions, in the case of this recipe, we use lasagna plates that are left to soak in hot water for 10 minutes and then finish cooking in the oven for 15 minutes more.
