The canelazo is a hot drink that is usually taken in cold regions of Colombia, being more common in mountain areas, basically consists of a drink made from water, cinnamon sticks, sugar or panela and aguardiente, a typical liquor of this country.

Ingredients
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 600 ml / 20 oz of water
- Aguardiente
- 100 g / 3.5 oz of sugar
How To Make It
Step 1:
We begin the preparation of our canelazo, for this, we put a pot on the fire and add the water, sugar, cinnamon sticks, stir and let it cook over low heat for 40 minutes.
Step 2:
After this time, strain to remove the cinnamon sticks, serve in a glass, add a little aguardiente (this is to taste) and we can enjoy this delicious Colombian drink.
Tips To Prepare It
As for panela, nowadays we can find it in most supermarkets, although we can also find it in Latin stores, as well as aguardiente, although if we cannot find it, we can use another similar variety of liquor, such as an aniseed liqueur or also known as anis.
