The pumpkin cream is one of the recipes that can never miss in our menu of meals, it is a very comforting and delicious dish, perfect to take it with our meals or on holidays like Christmas, also this pumpkin cream can be taken both hot and cold, we like to take it hot, as we always add some kind of cheese that melts with the cream and gives it a delicious touch.
There are many ways to prepare pumpkin cream, it all depends on the kitchen where it is prepared, but basically consists of a previous cooking of the pumpkin that can be accompanied by other ingredients such as onion, potatoes, some spices and broth, which is then crushed thus obtaining a delicious cream, some people add cream or milk cream to provide more creamy texture, but in our opinion, we do not like to use this ingredient, since we can get an equally creamy texture by just using the pumpkin puree with the rest of the ingredients.

Ingredients
- 400 g. (14.1 oz / 0.88 lb) skinless pumpkin cut into cubes
- 600 ml. (20.2 oz) water
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 potato cut into cubes
- Provolone cheese cut in cubes
- Chives for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
How To Make It
Step 1: We begin the preparation of our pumpkin cream, for this, in a pot at medium temperature and with a little olive oil, we will add the onion and let it cook for a couple of minutes, then add the pumpkin, potatoes, a little salt and pepper and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 2: Add the water and let cook for 20 minutes with the pot covered, after the minutes we will remove our vegetables from the pot and we will reserve them in a container with a little of the cooking broth (do not use all the broth, just a little).
Step 3: We introduce our pumpkin with the rest of the vegetables and a little of the broth in the blender and puree until we obtain a creamy texture (when pureeing the cream if we see that it is too thick, we add a little more broth until the creamy texture is achieved).
Step 4: Serve our pumpkin cream in a deep dish, add the cheese on top, some chives and enjoy.
Tips To Prepare It
For this pumpkin cream recipe we use water, but you can also use vegetable or chicken broth.
If we see that when we blend the pumpkin cream in the blender it is too thick, we add a little more of the cooking broth until we get a creamy texture.
