Today we will show you how to prepare delicious creamy potatoes au gratin, they are very easy to prepare and you will love their creaminess and flavor, best of all it is a very economical dish and perfect as a starter or garnish to our meals, follow our step by step videos and pamper your guests with this delicacy.
Ingredients
- 4 potatoes cut into cubes (without the skin)
- 200 ml. (6.75 fl. oz.) of cooking cream or single cream
- 80 ml. (2.70 fl. oz.) of sour cream
- 2 crushed garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 80 g. (2.80 oz.) grated mozzarella cheese (for the mixture)
- 120 g. (4.20 oz.) grated mozzarella cheese (for gratin)
- 100 g. (3.50 oz.) Parmesan cheese (for gratin)
- Salt and pepper to taste
How To Make It
Step 1: We begin the preparation of our creamy potatoes au gratin, in a bowl, add the potatoes, cream, sour cream, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, 80 g. of mozzarella cheese and mix everything very well.
Step 2: Place the potatoes in an ovenproof dish, cover with aluminum foil and bake at 200 ºC / 392 °F for 1 hour.
Step 3: After the hour, remove our potatoes from the oven and add the remaining 120 g. of mozzarella cheese, the Parmesan cheese and put our potatoes back in the oven (uncovered) for 15 minutes more to gratinate (when you see that it takes a golden color on top, they are ready).
Step 4: Once the gratin time is over, remove the potatoes from the oven and our delicious creamy potatoes au gratin are ready.
Tips To Prepare It
For this recipe we use sour cream, if you don't have it, you can substitute with unsweetened Greek yogurt.
