The papelon con limon is a typical Venezuelan drink although it is also prepared in other Latin American countries such as Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia, to prepare it we need panela or also called papelón or piloncillo which is nothing more than a type of unrefined brown sugar obtained from sugar cane, additionally it has lime or lemons, which makes its combination of flavors, a very refreshing and delicious drink.

Ingredients
- Juice of 2 limes or lemons
- 100 g. (0.22 lbs) of Panela or papelón
- 700 ml (24 oz) of cold water
How To Make It
Step 1: We begin the preparation of our papelon con limon, for this, in a small pot and over low heat, add the papelon and pour a little water (to cover 1/4 of the panela) and let it cook until it dissolves (about 10 minutes approximately).
Step 2: Once the panela is dissolved, add it in a pitcher, then add the 700 ml of water, the lemon juice, stir until all the ingredients are mixed and our delicious and refreshing Venezuelan drink is ready.
Tips To Prepare It
As for the papelon, you can use it whole or granulated, we recommend the first option because it has a much better flavor, you can get it in supermarkets and Latin stores.
