Ingredients
- 5 potatoes
- 2 cans of canned tuna, uncooked
- 2 boiled and chopped eggs
- 225 g. of mayonnaise
- 1 carrot, cooked and cut into small cubes
- 50 g. of frozen peas or canned peas
- 50 g. of olives stuffed with peppers (cut in rings)
- Piquillo peppers for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
How To Make It
Step 1:
We begin the preparation of our Spanish potato salad, for this, in a pot with boiling water, add a little salt, add our potatoes with everything and their skin and let cook between 15 and 20 minutes (this will depend on the size of the potatoes, you can also prick them to see if they are cooked or not, if the toothpick passes through without problems, you have them ready, otherwise, let them cook a few more minutes).
Step 2:
After the cooking time, remove them from the fire, remove all the water and let them cool, once cool, remove the skin, place them in a bowl, and with the help of a fork, we are going to crush them as I show you in the video (it is only crush a little).
Step 3:
In another bowl or container, add the mashed potatoes, cooked carrots, peas, boiled egg, canned tuna, olives and stir, then add the mayonnaise, a little salt, a little pepper and stir until perfectly integrated.
Step 4:
Serve on a plate, put some piquillo peppers on top to decorate, some olives and we have our delicious salad ready.
Tips To Prepare It
Once the salad is ready, keep it in the refrigerator until serving time.
For this Spanish potato salad, use potatoes that are special for boiling.
You can add whatever ingredients you like, but the basic ingredients for this salad should be potato, egg and mayonnaise.
The cooking time of the potatoes will depend on their size, but an approximate time would be between 15 and 20 minutes.
For the eggs, put water in a pot and when it is boiling, add the eggs very carefully, use a spoon to submerge them, so that they do not hit the bottom and break, then cook them for 10 minutes, when the 10 minutes are over, remove them from the heat and submerge them in ice water to stop cooking, then remove their shells and cut them into pieces.
