Polenta is an elaboration that starts with corn flour, it is a very traditional dish of Italian cuisine, but it is also widely consumed in countries like Austria, France, Argentina and Uruguay, among others, its preparation is basically to cook the flour in water or some kind of fumet, thus obtaining a mixture of thick texture, usually seasoned with different spices to add more flavor to the polenta as it is a bit bland.

Ingredients
- 250 g. instant polenta
- 1 liter (34 oz) of chicken broth
- 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1/2 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1/2 tablespoon ground black pepper
- Olive oil
How To Make It
Step 1: We begin the preparation of our baked polenta sticks, for this, in a pot we add the chicken broth, oregano, thyme and garlic powder, when it starts to boil, we lower the heat and add the polenta in two parts, stirring constantly, until we obtain a thick texture (we remove from the heat).
Step 2: In a rectangular mold with plastic wrap, pour the polenta mixture and spread it very well (use a mold large enough because when pouring the mixture, it should reach about 1 cm high), let it cool and then we take our polenta to the refrigerator for 1 hour or until it has a solid texture.
Step 3: Remove from the refrigerator and transfer our polenta to a wooden board, then with the help of a knife we will cut as I show you in the video to form our polenta sticks.
Step 4: On a tray with parchment paper, place our polenta sticks and then with the help of a brush, add a little olive oil on top, bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 220 ºC / 428 °F. After the cooking time in the oven, remove our polenta sticks from the oven and they are ready.
Tips To Prepare It
Polenta can be found in any supermarket.
For this polenta sticks recipe, you can add the spices of your choice, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, rosemary, etc.
If you don't have chicken broth, you can make these polenta sticks with water (remember to add a little salt to the water).
These delicious polenta sticks can be baked or fried.
