Today we will show you how to prepare a recipe with onions that is very well known worldwide and that is also used as a complement to many other recipes, it is caramelized onions.
Its preparation requires a somewhat long cooking time, more or less between 35 and 40 minutes by sautéing and at low temperature until the caramelization process is achieved!

Ingredients
- 1 kg. of onions chopped in fine julienne strips
- 6 tablespoons of powdered panela (whole cane sugar)
- 2 tablespoons of apple vinegar
- Salt to taste
- Olive oil
How To Make It
Step 1: We begin the preparation of our caramelized onions, for this, in a pot add the oil until hot, then add the onion, salt and let it cook for 40 minutes at low temperature.
Step 2: After 40 minutes we add the paprika or powdered panela, the apple vinegar, mix and let it cook for another 10 minutes at the same temperature.
Step 3: Remove from heat and we have our caramelized onions ready, I hope you enjoy it!
Tips To Prepare It
For this caramelized onions recipe, we use panela powder (whole cane sugar) if you don't have it, you can substitute it with brown sugar, I personally like it better with panela because it gives it a different flavor and it is delicious.
The cooking of the caramelized onions should be at low temperature, if you see that it is getting dry, you can add a little water.
