One of the most popular desserts in Venezuelan gastronomy is the popular chocolate marquesa or also known in other countries of the world as chocolate and cookies cake, this cake that can never be missing in a birthday or family party, is one of those desserts that have become customary in these family events!
The chocolate marquesa is a very easy recipe to make and the result is to be applauded, basically a chocolate mixture is made and then it will be used in layers together with the cookies.
The best thing about this chocolate marquise or chocolate cookie cake is that it does not need an oven!!! after the cake is assembled, it should go directly to the refrigerator for a few hours and then enjoy it!!! follow our step by step videos below and learn how to make this delicious dessert.
Ingredients
- 400 g. of maria cookie
- 300 g. dessert chocolate
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 lt. milk (900 ml. for the mixture and 100 ml. to dilute the cornstarch)
- 200 ml. of milk mixed with powdered chocolate
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 4 egg yolks
- 120 g. sugar
- 80 g. butter
- Chocolate chips for decoration
How To Make It
Step 1: We begin the preparation of our chocolate marquesa or chocolate and cookie cake, for this, in a bowl add the butter, chocolate and take it to the microwave until completely melted.
Step 2: In a saucepan at medium low temperature, add 900 ml. of milk, the vanilla, the sugar and stir, when it starts to boil add the egg, the melted chocolate and mix, then add the cornstarch diluted in the 100 ml. of milk and continue stirring until obtaining a thick and creamy texture (let it cool).
Step 3: In a bowl we are going to add a little of the chocolate, then we dip one by one the maria cookies in the milk and chocolate powder mixture and cover the bottom, then we add more chocolate on top and repeat the process (4 to 5 layers, it will depend on the container).
Step 4: Add the chocolate chips on top and place our chocolate marquise in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 hours or until it is well set.
Step 5: Once the refrigeration time is over, remove and we have our chocolate marquesa or chocolate and cookies tart ready!
Tips To Prepare It
For this chocolate marquesa recipe you can use the chocolate powder of your choice or you can just dip the cookies in milk.
Remember to leave the chocolate marquesa in the refrigerator for the indicated time, so that it sets well and takes consistency.
