If you're wondering how to make crepes, the truth is that it's very simple. All you have to do is mix the right amounts of the ingredients for crepes (which we detail below) and, once you have your batter ready, just heat up a frying pan, add a little batter in a circle, and in a matter of minutes they'll be ready to fill with whatever you like.
If you want to make savory crepes, I recommend reducing the amount of sugar a little. If, on the other hand, you want to make sweet crepes, use the exact amounts indicated in this recipe. We invite you to follow our step-by-step videos below, where we will explain in detail how to make crepes or crepe batter. If you have any questions or concerns, please leave us a comment and we will be happy to respond.
Ingredients
- 100 g / 3.5 oz all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 250 ml / 8.45 fl oz milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 20 g / 0.7 oz / 2 tablespoons melted butter
How To Make It
Step 1: We begin preparing our crepes by adding the egg, salt, and sugar to a bowl and whisking until the salt and sugar are thoroughly mixed. Then we add 100 ml of the 250 ml of milk and mix.
Step 2: Add the flour and mix until well combined, then add the rest of the milk and continue mixing. Finally, add the melted butter, mix well, and let the mixture rest for 20 minutes.
Step 3: Place a frying pan over low heat, spread a little butter, and add a little of the mixture (half a ladleful for a pan size like the one shown in the video). Swirl the pan as shown in the video so that the batter covers the entire base. Cook for 1½ minutes or until the top of the crepe is no longer liquid, flip it over, and cook for another minute (repeat this process until all the crepe batter is used up). Serve on a plate, fill with your favorite filling, and enjoy these delicious crepes.
Tips To Prepare It
Use a medium-low temperature when cooking the crepes so that they don't burn. Because the batter is thin, they cook very quickly.
To prepare the crepe batter, all ingredients should be at room temperature so that they blend together better.
The amount of crepe batter to use will depend on the size of the pan. For a pan size like the one shown in the video, fill it with up to half a soup ladle of batter.
This crepe recipe can be used to make both sweet and savory crepes. If you are making savory crepes, use only 1 tablespoon of sugar.
What can we accompany this recipe with?
