The rolled meat is a perfect dish for those occasions such as family reunions, celebrations like Christmas, in which we want to prepare a delicious but at the same time simple recipe and this rolled meat has all those qualities, it is a very attractive dish because of the way it is presented, since it is given a cylinder shape and when it is cut, all its filling can be appreciated.
As for the filling we can make it with whatever we like, in this recipe we use some ingredients such as carrot, onion, bacon, among others, but this meat roll can also be filled with ham, cheese or eggs, it all depends on the taste of each person.
It is also usually accompanied by some kind of sauce that is usually prepared based on tomato sauce, like the one we are going to prepare in this recipe, follow our step by step videos below, where we will explain the whole process to prepare this delicious recipe for meat rolled up.
Ingredients
- 1 kg. minced beef
- 2 carrots cut in cubes
- 1 red onion, diced
- 50 ml. of sherry wine
- 2 beaten eggs
- 2 tablespoons of mustard
- 1 tablespoon of sweet paprika
- 50 g. bread crumbs
- 100 g. bacon
- 3 tablespoons of ketchup sauce
- 2 tablespoons perrins sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
How To Make It
Step 1: We begin the elaboration of our rolled meat, for it, in a frying pan at medium temperature, we add the olive oil until hot and then we add the carrot, the onion and let it cook for 10 minutes, after this time we add the sherry wine and let it cook for 3 more minutes (reserve).
Step 2: In a bowl or container, add the minced meat, the carrot and onion previously prepared, the mustard, pepper, salt, sweet paprika, bread crumbs, beaten eggs and mix until all the ingredients are blended.
Step 3: Form a kind of cylinder with the meat, place it in an ovenproof container and then cover it with bacon slices as shown in the video, cover with parchment paper and bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 180 ºC / 356 ºF.
Step 4: Now it is time to prepare our sauce, for this we mix the tomato sauce with the perrins sauce and mix (reserve).
Step 5: After the first 30 minutes, take the meat roll out of the oven, remove the parchment paper and with the help of a brush varnish it with the sauce previously prepared and put it back in the oven for another 30 minutes.
Step 6: Once the cooking time is over, remove from the oven, let it cool for 5 minutes, cut into rounds, add the sauce that was left in the dish on top and our meat roll is ready.
