One of the things that we most like to prepare are pickles, as they are ideal to add flavor to many food dishes, also prepare it at home is an extremely simple task and best of all is that we can prepare a lot of quantity and is perfectly preserved in the refrigerator for a long time.

Or we can simply make the basic recipe of pickled onions without spices.

Ingredients
- 1 red onion, finely chopped
- 1 whole garlic clove
- 12 black peppercorns
- 1 bay leaf
- 150 ml. / 5 fl. oz. apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar
- 150 ml. / 5 fl. oz. of boiling water
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
How To Make It
Step 1: We begin the preparation of our pickled onions, for this we mix the boiling water, vinegar, sugar, salt and stir well until the sugar and salt have dissolved.
Step 2: In a glass container (with a lid) add half of the red onions, then add the garlic clove, the bay leaf, the peppercorns and the rest of the onions.
Step 3: Add the vinegar mixture until it covers the onions completely, cover the container, mix a little by shaking the container, take it to the refrigerator and it is ready (if we want to consume the pickled onions the same day, they should rest for a minimum of two hours).
Tips To Prepare It
When preparing these onions, you can add the spices you like the most.
Reserve the pickled onions in an airtight glass container and then put them in the refrigerator.
You can prepare pickled onions using both red onions and white onions.
Always use the same amount of water as vinegar.
The vinegar can be white wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar.
As for storage, we recommend that once the pickled onions are ready, let them cool and then store them in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator, this way they will remain perfect for many days.
