Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 1 tomato cut into small squares
- 1 small onion cut into small squares
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil or butter
How To Make It
Step 1: We begin the preparation of our Venezuelan perico, for this, in a bowl we add our eggs, a little salt, a little pepper and beat very well (you can beat with a whisk or simply with a fork).
Step 2: In a frying pan over medium heat, add a little olive oil, then add the onion and cook for 2 minutes, then add the tomato, a pinch of salt and cook for 5 more minutes.
Step 3: Add the beaten eggs and start stirring until the egg is perfectly cooked (as I show you in the video), this point is a little to taste, some people prefer a well cooked egg texture or some people leave them a little juicy, it is a matter of taste, personally I like to cook them well cooked, remove from heat and we have ready our yummy Venezuelan perico.
Tips To Prepare It
In this recipe we use white onion, but if you wish, you can also use spring onion or red onion.
Venezuelan perico is made with onion, tomatoes and beaten eggs, but if you wish you can also add peppers.
As for the cooking time of the Venezuelan perico, it goes a little to taste, some people cook it until the egg is well done and others cook it a little less, thus obtaining a juicier texture.
