Ingredients To Prepare Venezuelan chicken empanadas
- Empanada dough
- 1 shredded chicken breast
- 1/2 red bell pepper cut in small squares
- 1/2 green bell pepper cut in small squares
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 1/2 tablespoon cumin
- 1/2 tablespoon turmeric
- Pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- Vegetable oil
How To Make Venezuelan chicken empanadas
We begin the preparation of our chicken empanadas, for this, in a frying pan at medium temperature, we will add oil until hot, then add the garlic and onion and let it cook for a couple of minutes.
Add the red and green peppers and cook for a few more minutes (approximately 6 minutes).
Add the shredded chicken breast, cumin, pepper, curcuma, salt and mix, cook for 7 minutes.
Now we are going to prepare our empanadas, for this, on a flat surface, we will place a rectangular piece of plastic wrap (as I show you in the video) with the help of a brush we will put a little oil, then place a medium sized ball of our dough, flatten it and with the help of our hands we will give it a circular shape.
We add our chicken filling on one side, then we fold in half and with the help of a plate we will perfect the edges as I show you in the video.
In a frying pan or pot with very hot oil, we will fry our empanadas until they take a golden color, remove from heat and we have our delicious chicken empanadas ready, enjoy!
